I spotted a dipper flying just above the River Drowes this afternoon. Then I was joined on the bank by a grey wagtail. It landed just a few feet from where I was fishing and had a drink from a little rivulet that was making its way to the river.

(No fresh salmon about, but I did manage 1 small kelt and helped to net a couple of others.)

Bouncing Jack Snipe this lunchtime. It's been around here for the last 3 or 4 weeks but that's the first time I've been in the right place at the right time.

Travelling on small country road near Baltic coast north of Hamburg, little group of cranes in field very nearby. Best view I've ever had of them. Also great white egret at edge of lake.

O the train between Sandy and Peterborough this morning I saw three separate large flocks of lapwing :) :)
