Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Now that's what I call a very summery looking photo! Love it!
Not seeing much these days although there were three individual Cetti's singing along my route this morning. In the woods it was absolutely quiet, bird song long gone.

Kingfisher whistled past me on my local riverside run today. Haven't seen one for a while.

There seem to be a lot more ravens about at the moment. I am seeing and hearing them nearer to the house than I have in the past. I don't know if they have had a good year, or they are not being persecuted as much.

I’ve heard three separate singing chiffchaff this morning. Jays are becoming much more active (and less secretive) - a real sign of autumn approaching

Yes, DT, jays all over the place here. Much acorn-burying to be attended to.

Indeed, DT. Both jays and magpies are very striking birds which wouldn't look at all out of place in the tropics, and we tend to take them for granted here.
