Finally in the last few days large numbers of hirundi have started moving through here, feeding and resting up at the reservoir before continuing their journey. Even in this morning's heavy rain there were substantial numbers of Swallows, House and Sand Martins feeding over the water. A few Swifts have also been reported but I've not spotted any yet.

Still no swallows or willow warblers on my patch this morning. I feel deserted and betrayed by them!

Swifts have been seen over the last few days by other observers at several sites down here (Cardiff area), up to 20 together. But I've yet to even see a Swallow!

I’ve seen swallow, sand and house martin. Swift seen in Bingley recently and I’m in Devon. Today’s best bird: a big female sparrow hawk sliding past Heathcoat’s textile mill in Tiverton this morning
