Fragile Do Not Bend
First damselfly of the season, a rather dozy Large Red.

I’d taken a bow of kitchen scraps out to the compost heap, set the empty bowl on the ground whilst I checked the greenhouse, and when I got back indoors I saw I’d gained a damselfly. Nice to have a chance to see one so close up! Moved it out into the sunshine.

Finally figured out what the not-a-sparrow bird is that I often get on my bird feeder. It's a reed bunting. Both male and female visit.

I always think reed buntings look like priests. Never had one in the garden though. Not jealous at all.

Been up to Galashiels and back today. Oyks, curlew and lapwing in Dales. Buzzards everywhere in Borders. Several house martins on Hellifield Flash this evening, plus shellduck. Level look great for wafers but no bins muppet

Our walk with a bit of bird watching yesterday was scuppered by a sea mist rolling in. :(

BBC 2 tonight at 8.00. Programme about training Peregrine Falcons and showing their exploits.

If you are under 30 then BBC2 is a television channel. But i'm sure you will find a way of getting it on your phone.

Thanks Chrisity. I'll look out for that. I've yet to see a Peregrine.
