Nice description DT 😀
Whooper count on the res up to 54 this morning. Took the binos to do an accurate count and had to repeat it several times before I was convinced. That's a staggering number for here.
Meanwhile word of my mealworms must be spreading. The Blackbirds, Robins and Fieldfare now have 3 Song Thrushes for company. Top ups are becoming an hourly job.

Fortunately Bonners I picked up a new tub from the Agricultural Suppliers on Weds but I'm getting through them at a serious rate. Broken up suet balls are also going down well with the ground feeders and I'm going to try them on some rice shortly (RSPB suggestion).

Rice going down well. Cafe guests now include Starlings, Jackdaw and Woodpidgeon. Nuthatch has been to the hanging feeders for the first time I've seen in a few days but no sign of the LTTs today.

54 Whoopers is just fantastic FF. Best I could do was a garden flyover of one Fieldfare. Three Robins in garden all getting along well. Some years ago weather like we've had would be the catalyst for Skylark hard weather movement...shows how relatively rare they've become ...I've not seen any passing over.

Three weeks ago the Skylarks had started singing on nice days over the pasture above the village. The same pasture that now has drifts several feet deep on it......
