bonners
Terns on the river for me today. Really clear view of about eight of them. Not too sure which variety though. Common Terns in North Wales would you say?
Still no swallows, although the robin has now returned to my garden.

This weekend I saw quite a few lovely birds including a pair of stonechats, a sparrowhawk chasing a smaller bird, larks, some sort of pipet, and lots of other small birds too many to mention/remember!

Fragile Do Not Bend
On this morning's run, I was on a footpath crossing a field and I disturbed a couple of birds from within the crop. I guess they were a bit bigger than a robin, a fairly plain brown on top (I couldn't see the underneath) and a little bit of white on the wings (less white than on a chaffinch). I'm not very good on ground nesting birds - any ideas what they could have been?

Fragile, could they have been skylarks? Location and description sounds likely, and they have white along the edges of their wings.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I got the impression that they weren't as speckled as the pictures I've seen of skylarks, more an even brown like a robin. But they were moving fast so I could be wrong!
