Is that right NE? I thought it was just night closures at present and all open then until early October. ? Well, I must admit I haven't checked personally of late, this was info from a friend who is usually pretty spot on with her information. If what you say is correct then I apologise unreservedly. |

um
Seems work on the road is suspended from 15th Jul until end Aug, and it’s open. Although may have some traffic lights.

Yeah, nice perspective. Certainly one I could get in to if I lived a little closer! Just back from a couple of days up there myself. Mosedale Horseshoe for me with a few outliers to add in. Went straight up the front of Kirk Fell out of Wasdale. Kinda enjoyed that, Wainwright over-egged how bad that climb is. Proper crapped myself on the climb up from Dore Head to Stirrup Crag / Yewbarrow though. I should really read all the books I have before I go out on these walks (/scrambles)! Forecast was very poor yesterday and I couldn’t get out early so just did the walk up Troutbeck Tongue. I’m not sure that I’ve enjoyed a couple of hours more than that for ages. Such a lovely little walk. |

WW. I felt the same about the stirrup crag route. Not helped by just not knowing if you were on the right path or not. Survived but promised myself I need never do that again.

Troutbeck tongue is a great view point. So many good walks from Troutbeck.
