Interesting find Rosehip. Definitely could qualify as the most remote house in England.
This is a totally academic comment…but £1.5 million seems v expensive for a poor quality building. And what can you do with the land? Graze a few sheep…that’s all.

Would depend how much land has been sold off in the meantime.
The most remote and the probably the ugliest per pound of any building. Garden's not bad though

Don't leave it too late to get to the pub if you are in Keswick, earliest last orders was 10, latest 10:50. Lack of staff blamed.

I got an email from a campsite I’ve used in the past recently. They are having to limit their onsite restaurant / bar - the reason is apparently a huge region wide lack of staff, thanks to Brexit. Apparently lots of staff would come over from Europe and we’ve lost that resource pool.
(Where threads collide… sorry)

Yes, there's lots of hospitality work to be had around here. I noticed today that many places in Silloth have notices up looking for staff.

Maybe all the second homers will die off and the bottom will fall out of the housing market.

Coop is also advertising for staff, as is Greggs.
I imagine the nearest labour pool is up the A66 and if there is local work they'll take it first.
