FF, I don't think it's any secret - it was George Foster and he took a good chunk off Ricky Lightfoot's time. Lots of heated debate on the Fellrunners FB page, presumably it's been removed now. George lives in Braithwaite BTW, not that it's any kind of justification I guess.

Just come across a FB post from vo2 max coaching i.e Martin Cox about it. For some reason I'm completely unsurprised by his involvement!

Where he lives is irrelevant. All the arguments for not going on the fells and creating an undue risk of needing help are independent of your place of residence. It's just an act of pure arrogance which brings me back to Martin Cox....

Well, I have to say I agree. Ambleside a.c. will not like this.

I can't imagine George Fisher are going to be too happy either! And in may well find he isn't a Scott athlete much longer.

In terms of the ramifications? You're right.

I think lots of places are bracing themselves for an unwanted influx of visitors this weekend. Where I live in North Yorkshire one village (Pateley Bridge) has taped off part of the highstreet to restrict access, I got this via a tweet from a local butcher 🙂

Sorry - bit of a fire and forget post before going to bed! I’m not sure I have a massive issue with him doing it (yes, accidents can happen anywhere) but adverting it was poor as it will just mean people will think it’s a free for all.

I guess the fells are bone dry right now? I need to get on the FRA pages more - good reminder.
