Just had a customer on the phone moaning that his 'ring pieces' have gone rusty.

'yes sir which of your tie rings have corroded?'

Getting excited about going on holiday Wednesday.

Understand that this may not excite anyone else.

Most exciting run? From a few years ago.

I went for a run along a riverbank early one morning and wondered why there were a few police cars and fire engines parked close by.

"Exciting stuff," I thought as I got closer to a footbridge. A fireman stopped me as I got about 30 yards away from the bridge.

"You can't go any further mate; there's a man hanging from the bridge," he said.

If he hadn't pointed him out and practically encouraged me to look I might have got away without the image that then stuck with me for a few months...

A sad story for the man :-(

Does this grandchild come via your son or your daughter?

And do they know whether it's a boy or a girl, or did they not want to know?

Sorry Columba been out tonight.

Its my son (my only child) and his fiancee. They don't know the sex yet and I keep forgetting to ask them if they are going to find out.. A lovely Christmas present and hopefully for the third time as he was and his father was a fifth generation and his great grandma is still going strong at 92

My Mum just missed being a great-grandma. Or perhaps didn't quite miss, depending on your point of view; the great-grandchild was in utero at the time my Mum died.
