If it's true, they won't leave her to do it if she can't. Is she living on biscuits?

Did you get it put on her notes that anything should be d/w you?

If the DNs are visiting, it's far more likely that they'll be administering the insulin, may be a once daily thing.

Hope you can get a clearer picture soon.

Certain can’t knock our NHS….next door has the rapid response, her nurse and now the ambulance all at her door. Shame she is just back from a few day respite

My aunt (mum's sister) passed away peacefully on Thursday. Practical planning for mum is paused for a while.

Off to see mum tomorrow. I think she needs the company.

My auntie was an amazing woman. When I was primary school age if my mum couldn't find me she'd know I'd popped to her house to do a spot of baking and would be home with some treats soon. She had dementia and hadn't been herself for many years though.

Hugs to all.

I've had to have a very pointed conversation with Aged Parent about my own health* ~ he's very watchful of not overstressing everyone else except those who can't escape him (and I'll be danged if I can make heads or tails of my copy of the CT results letter to the G.P ... the earliest I could speak to him is still almost a fortnight off.

* And herself's too.

(He's actually washed up twice in the last fortnight and actually gone out of the house twice in the last eight days ~ so he might [finally] be taking it all in 🙄😷 )

I thought I'd start a thread, as lots of us have elderly folks that we worry about/care for.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
