Cold indeed. Sitting in the office wrapped in a fleece blanket, heating on, clutching a mug of tea and eating loads, wondering if I'll ever get warm again. But it was nice!
We were told that the basic principle when volunteering at parkrun was "Don't think", so I shoud be good at it.

Bazoaxe, that's a pity. Maybe just come and watch/volunteer?
Haha, just got my email saying that I came 12th out of 12. Though, then again, maybe that's not too bad for not even having run.

Well done guys - TD on a podium finish, superb! And SA as timekeeper - nice one. Sounds like it went very well. And if it's enjoyable in this gale it proves it can work in any conditions! Look forward to joining you all some time after 24 Oct (when back recovering from Abingdon!)
Who took the pics today? That is a vital Parkrun role is taking the lovely pics. SHould be some stunning ones along the coast at Cramond. Maybe Ellem and Mr Ellem will come along and take pics (Ellem will prob compete, thinking about it) - his pics are great and the sea should be a lovely backdrop.
Well done again guys. Looking forward to joining soon. :-)G

Did yuo know you get points for volunteering SA? 100 points I think. And that's the same number you get for winning a race! You know it makes sense! :-)G

What do I do with points? Do they buy me pizza? In any case though, sounds like a good enough reason never to run again myself. (Btw, didn't do the timekeeping - just handing out number tokens. Simple tasks for simple minds. ;-))
Don't think anyone took pics today, but there was someone from myRace running. And yes, looking forward to seeing you there, G.

Points mean prizes! Actually, I don't think they do. But if you go look at the Parkrun results pages you'll see that every runner has points against them. There is a league, so to speak. If you run and you are 10th, you get 90 points (I think 100 - 10?). If you volunteer and don't run, you get 100 points (up to 3 x volunteering, I think). And if you run every week, even if you're last, you get some points and they build up. Great to encourage regulare participation and volunteering.
Can someone give us a cake report, btw. I see TD referring to cake or scones. This is important please. :-)G

Cheers, G.
Went to one of the small cafes afterwards, where people had scones. You'll have to ask TD for a full report though - I can only judge the smelll, which was lovely.
