I normally try to avoid politics on fetch but this is an interesting article on US sports and their political leanings. College football is the most republican leaning fivethirtyeight.com

WtnMel, I watch Redzone on Sundays which is on Sky Sports Mix, usually from 6.00 pm to midnight. If you don't mind the broadcast changing from game-to-game, it's not bad for a free to air programme of all the Sunday afternoon (US time) NFL matches.

Redzone is an acquired taste. I enjoy it and it is definitely aimed at the fantasy nfl crowd.

It feels weird and you don’t get the rhythm of the game as it jumps around so much and doesn’t give the feel of the game. However it doesn’t have the multiple advert and game breaks.

I sometimes start on the main game if it is a good one and switch over to red zone if it is a blow out

Red zone gives me a headache, although my brother in law loves it, but he’s a ginger 49ers supporter, so that doesn’t mean much.

Thanks for link, Dave. Will read that later. I’m assuming that if Big Ten restarts then Pac-12 (and the rest) will follow. Here’s hoping.

I apologise for this in advance, but I am in awe of how much talking the red zone host does during the 6 hours and assume he has a urinal under his desk, or denies himself water on Sundays pre show.

I saw him interviewed on sky sports and I think he is like that all the time. He is basically a springer spaniel in human form

Scott Hansen comes over as a decent guy. Not arrogant at all and certainly someone who a British audience can listen to with ease.

Definitely. Seems a really nice guy and was genuinely excited about the start of the NFL season

Sorry - just catching up after a couple of days ..

Pothunter, SurreyPhil - thanks for the tip re Sky Sports Mix. I only have Freeview rather than cable (Virgin) so won't be able to see it and have no plans to get Sky.

57.5 degrees - tbh, I expected the Ch 5 show to be crap .. just wasn't expecting it to be as bad as it was!

Needless to say, no response to my tweet from NFL, NFL UK or Ch 5. Looks like I'll have to survive on clips on the BBC website.
