I give them a go at least once a year though, and then get pissed off and don't go back on. Even the single thread on here isn't any use, as HP says the folk that post on it aren't single anymore so I haven't been on there for years. what do I know though, single for 9 years, and don't see it changing anytime soon.

I met my other half at parkrun He would have been too old and too short for my criteria! The problem with those sites I think is that they focus on what you have in common rather than the other persons attitude to having different interests, if that makes sense. Aberdeen is a village, and it is the same guys on all the websites (i'm sure they say the same, it's the same women too!) There are a lot of hook ups and as Herman says, it's ok if that's what you're after, and I admire those who are single, and don't want a relationship and have the balls to operate like that, but it must be unfulfilling... I have done online dating (this time) since new year i have had 9 dates, 2 of which resulted in second/third dates or more. but ulitimately were 2 week wonders.... You've gotta take the chances and meet, some people just seem to want to chat online for weeks. You don't know til you meet someone if you have chemistry.... I met my last partner of 5 years thru online dating too.... we split up coz he had a problem with looking for hookups and chatting to other women online, and i sometimes see him on those sites i am on now. But that's one very bad experience, and he's a freak, not the norm!
