Looking at the stats, even the 1981 Ashes only had rest days at Lords and Headingley (hence Botham's famous barbecue). The Old Trafford, Edgbaston and Oval games had Sunday play.

Sunday Grandstand used to feature the JPL. Shortened run-ups for the bowlers and a carpet strip nearby to protect the County Championship wicket which began on the Saturday. Sunday pyjama cricket and the two division National League didn't help it's decline. The four-day County Championship effectively killed it off. |

Sussex are up. Yorks v Middlesex for the 2nd slot. Middlesex have already won. Looks like we're going to have a day and a half to bowl out Glamorgan who will have (I suspect) a target around 400. Sussex v Middlesex at Hove starts next week, with Yorks having Northants at Headingley. The weather might have an impact.....still don't know why we're playing championship cricket at the end of sept.... |

Looks like Somerset going to need to score 393 to keep any remote title hopes alive.

Umeed has had a dreadful game opening the innings. Faced only three balls (W-4-W) over both innings.

I was out first ball twice in a row, and got back to the pavilion to be informed of my own personal hat trick.
