Malcolm Marshall batting with David Gower would've been worth seeing. Another one who is no longer with us, of course, having died of cancer only a couple of years after his playing career ended.

Definitely saw those two. Leeds, 1984, my main memory is of the Western Terrace laying into Gower for being a Soft Southern Bastard when he dropped a catch.

I'm trying to rack my brains to whether I went to the Sunday of this Test match:

espncricinfo.com

In which case, Thorpe was batting at the start of play. I kind of remember seeing Geraint Jones scoring a 100, but in my head it was against the West Indies. But none of the Tests against West Indies fit.

Loved the Hundred (again).

Unlucky for the teams I'd like to see win, as they are guaranteed to lose now I have backed them:

Womens: Welsh Fire
Mens: Birmingham Phoenix

Just saw someone post that Jack Russell had died. I didn’t think he was that old

Turned out to the front man of Great White - a band I’ve never heard of. Still sad for those involved but a somewhat different story for me

Only watched some highlights of him the other day (the cricketer that is).

According to wikipedia (again the cricketer)

Russell has stated his desire that his hands be amputated after his death, and preserved in formaldehyde.[22]

He didn't retire until 41, must be a good career for someone up and down so much and the stress on the body.
