Thought that was just me! By the time I’ve worked out what they are showing the image disappears.

Not sure how I've never realised this before, but I've only just realised that West Indies Cricket is strongly dominated by the Islands in the lesser Antilles - with only Jamaica being the only consituent not in that group. Perhaps if cricket can be introduced into the US in even a small way, then there might be scope in the long term for the West Indies to think about possibly playing games and recruiting players from Puerto Rico and some of the other larger islands. The question would be money, but the greater player base would eventually balance that out. |

(of course, my thinking may be way off the mark)

Apart from the Bahamas, the potential future members of Cricket West Indies are some of the islands that are constituent parts of France and the Netherlands. No mention of any of the bigger island nations. en.wikipedia.org

Is that because those islands were predominantly English speaking as opposed to French, Dutch and Spanish? So more about exported culture rather than geography. Just a guess more than any real theory. |

The Spanish speaking islands are hotbeds of baseball, the Dutch islands also play. You can't organise anything in Haiti, which doesn't leave a great deal else.

I happened to wake up in the middle of the night and listened to what sounded like highlights, but turned out to be just the couple of overs where they smashed 46 (?) runs

Surrey are going to win the London derby, although it's a bit tighter in the Roses match but Yorkshire should edge it.
