Still a few gave their wickets away - Bopara, Ali... However, we're taking wickets - which is important and even last year, we'd probably have lost that game from 60ish/5 - but we didn't, so that's an improvement. And India are the world cup holders.... Yes, we're not up there with the likes of the Aussies and SA yet, but we are improving, so let's be positive, eh?

(I still have nightmares from the first Ashes series I watched on TV of him coming into bowl with that grin on his face. Particularly as an Essex boy whose favourite player was Gooch!)
rf_fozzy Jan 2015 12:44pm, 30 Jan 2015 6,674 posts	0 rf_fozzy Essentially that if he'd been in charge of him, he'd have bent his run up a bit more and had him getting close to the stumps - basically he was saying the new ruling re: bails etc was a nonsense, but also I think he was suggesting that getting him to straighten up his run was part of the problem.

Decent start, but deep down I know we'll lose. Can't decide whether we'll lose our way with the ball and let their lower order post a decent total, or have a nice gettable target then get smeared all over the WACA by Johnson, Starc etc for not many....
