Don't mind the two phases too much. Mainly they need to get rid of the hundred to play more proper cricket in the middle of the summer.

It feels to me like 50 over cricket has been fatally wounded and is going limp on until put out of its misery. A season with the two CC phases split by a county T20 tournament lasting around 5 weeks and attracting big names from world cricket would be excellent, I think. Never going to happen, the ECB is too wedded to the Hundred now.

Essex were trying to give away quick cheap runs, so they could chase an agreed target. The wicket keeper bowled and Keith Fletcher kept wicket without any pads on.
