Nice touch from Glamorgan to form a guard of honour for Rikki Clarke when he came out to bat in his final first class game.

Well deserved win. I'm going to try to get to Lords next week for a day of the Bob Willis Cup thingy.

Rikki Clarke was part of the last Warks team to win the championship (in 2012) I believe...

I do like this format for the Championship, sounds like they may keep it for next season and then revert to two divisions split 8/10, but I think there's a bit to be thrashed out there still.

I dislike the way they've split the points for phase 2. Either they had to carry over points from all games or no games. Don't mind the two phases too much. Mainly they need to get rid of the hundred to play more proper cricket in the middle of the summer. |

Agreed, fozzy, I didn't see the point of halving the carried forward points - that's the only thing I'd change. It feels to me like 50 over cricket has been fatally wounded and is going limp on until put out of its misery. A season with the two CC phases split by a county T20 tournament lasting around 5 weeks and attracting big names from world cricket would be excellent, I think. Never going to happen, the ECB is too wedded to the Hundred now. |

Don't think there were 11 bowlers in Essex game way back, but I recall in trying to concoct a result. Essex were trying to give away quick cheap runs, so they could chase an agreed target. The wicket keeper bowled and Keith Fletcher kept wicket without any pads on.
