Not sure ITB could ever claim that (I may be wrong mind), always felt ITB was underwhelming at the shorter game. Also, ODI’s in ITB’s era were not as different to the longer game as they are now, so excelling in both formats is an even bigger ask now.

Tend to agree, although I don't think at the time I really appreciated that most of the best Australian and West Indian players were signed up by Kerry Packer for a couple of years of that period. England in a good position here, although it looked a lot better at 70-odd for 4 than it does now.
