You know very well that despite all that rich content, he'll be referred to as, 'Vaasy' by any English team mates.
Aside from being aware that one bloke in a professional side was called, 'Canestan', because he was an irritating 'see you next Tuesday' (apologies, Fetch), there is a lack of good nicknames in sport.
I accept that you guys pull your weight, but these are not in the public consciousness, sad to report. My personal favourite remains the footballer known as 'One Size'...
His name...
Fitz Hall.
Genius.

"Waltzing" Matt Hilder recently retired from rugby league. Can't help feeling that his parents named him Matthew as a joke though.

Interesting ground, Hagley Oval, where England won today. Christchurch didn't host any international cricket for a few years after the earthquake, while the new ground was being built. Its outfield is so big that 10 wickets are suitable for test cricket, and it's still used for kids cricket games at weekends.

Hagley Oval, despite being very new still retains it's old-school look:
I even managed to wander in last year to take a look without bothering anyone.
