Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fantastic. This is Denly’s innings apparently:

outside edge
lbw given out, overturned
play and miss
lbw shout not out
play and miss
play and miss
play and miss
off the mark
chopped past stumps
play and miss

Re that fake fielding: the dummy continues to be a staple tactic in football and rubgy, and no doubt in other sports, such as hockey. I'll leave that right there.

England to be all out by tea. Australia will put on a quick hundred before losing all their wickets in the last hour again, leaving England to needing to score just over 200 in 3 days. The weather warms up, the pitch settles down and we win comfortably...

... if they allow us 40 wickets, we might just make it.

Just when you think there is no further to fall. England go that one step further down.

Abysmal.

According to the Sky caption this is "The Participation Test".

Shame nobody told our batsmen.

Can anyone think of a worse session by us, ever?

I know there’s been collapses, all outs in a session but the context makes this for me.

This is the Ashes. After a poor 1st test we get a solid draw at Lord’s, a toss win and bowling them so we’re back in the series. Suddenly we’re feeling good and it’s all back on. Conditions are better, confidence is high, and Mo Mentum is in our corner.

Pre play TMS talk is of a tough day for Australia, and they observe that Australian body language is unusually down (until Roy coughs up his wicket). It’s time, this is the series, time to grab the opportunity.

Two hours later it’s all in rubble, Ashes gone. Unbelievable.

So any worse sessions?

Swittle - those dummies are slightly different in that they tend to be done with the ball rather than without it.

Archer & Leach to save the day?

I think the bowlers should go on strike and get the batsmen to bowl given they can't do the job they're supposed to do!
