We weren’t the most incompetent thing involved in the test match. That umpire, Wilson?, made us - yes even Moeen - look OK......
Apparently equalled the world record for most overturned decisions in a test match.

We should have a full bowling compliment next game.
Negatives
I still think Root is a mistake as captain. He let Smith have loads of runs day 1. That was the turning point. Make no mistake Smith is great but never ever give them runs. Root did the same second knock. What was all that with Woakes yesterday.....?
I would be very careful assuming Burns will make a lot of runs...he could have been out any number of times.
Buttler and Bairstow look shot.
Moeen, he is a good player. It is a shame he gets fucked about with all his career because Root or whoever has no idea how to set a field for him, but I think he has to go.
Excuses.
Ball change that accounted for a couple of wickets.. .may have made a difference.
They have to have an idea of what to do with Smith.
I can see them winning 3 or 4 to 0 if they don't.

Australia were the better side over the match. England didn't help themselves but were far from hopeless.
Uncomfortable with the universal lionising of Smith by the commentators. I'm happy that he's redeemed himself in style. However the context of his return seemed to be forgotten in the light of the scandal that got him banned. It was hardly Beefy smoking a spliff and bedding miss Australia. It was out and out cheating. A bit more humility all round wouldn't have gone amiss.
Strange how the Aussies are crying about the treatment of Smith and Warner by the crowd. Seems they're happy enough to hand it out. Not quite so happy to be on the recieving end.
