Well I have been trying to get my husband to have the snip for ages but he thinks we should have more children so won't.
He is in the army and is away a lot, leaving me to look after the 5 we already have.
Yes he is an idiot.
I love taking the pill, as I like the way it regulates my cycle, but obviously for me, it doesn't work that well as contraception. I take it every night before bed, so that isn't the problem.
I am thinking of giving up waiting for him and getting sterilised. My doctor will refer me straight away, but people keep telling me its a massive op, and I don't really like general anaesthetics. His is a local and a snip. Done. Its not fair!!!

Sterilisation isn't a massive op, SpeedyMel, although it does normally involve a general anaesthetic. The hardest part is finding a consultant who will do it instead of insisting that you have a Mirena coil put in (which is great for contraception but doesn't always give you an acceptable bleed pattern).
I wanted my ex-husband to have the snip. He wouldn't. So I swapped him for one who already had

mel, next time he is home, book yourself a week's holiday and leave him looking after your 5. if you can borrow MummyV's new one when it arrives too, then so much the better.
then see how much he wants another baby!

I had the Mirena coil put in about 3 or 4 mths ago. Its great!!!!!!!! I feel so much better being of the pill (was on it for about 15yrs, but I "things" started to change and I was not happy)
Since the coil my "non" periods last about 1/2 a day and only need a panty liner. See fab
