Sweetpeas - we are slow and looking to take about 18 months.
Minardi - I worked out that if it's 12 regions at around $43 per region (Laz has said he expects later regions to become cheaper) then it's about $500, or just over $1 per day.
Around 3000 miles each but some people may do more, others less, and over 18 months ut's just under 5 miles per day.
I would be entering a multisport team which allows for "any human powered activity", so not just walking/running.
At the mo, the wife and I are definites, so 8 more people.

Vixx - a couple of questions from me (and probably on behalf of lurkers too):
1. Are you planning to keep the same team throughout the event?
2. What if a participant doesn't quite manage the 3,000 miles in the 18 months?

I will keep the same team as far as I can, but if people wish to drop out then ideally if they could help find a replacement that would be awesome. We must have 10 members each region as far as I know.
You can't change a team member until a region is completed, but you then also only have to stump up $43 at a time. You get a medal for each region.
I don't mind doing extra mileage if I need to - the 3000 is an average across the 12 regions (about 3016 miles each), and am sure other people might do more too if they want tooo.
