Heartened by the response to the Cox poll. I know it's unfair to dislike someone for the way that they look, but it's not just that, it's the way that he talks too, and the way he presents.

But seriously those fishy lips, the wet smile, and the glassy eyes make me a bit queasy. Stephen Hawking was easier on the eye and ear, as well as coming across as much more credible and significantly less self-satisfied.

Annoying is not the same as disliking. I watch his programs after all. I just find myself thinking,do just get on with it and stop being all misty eyed. Rev Kate Botley is another matter, frightful person.

I love Cox. I won't even answer that poll as thinking he's OK doesn't cover it. :-p

I can't stand Brian Cox. There's a recent programme that looked quite interesting, but with him heading it up it's not going on here. As Dio says, it's the way he speaks - there's plenty out there who are knowledgeable and interesting to watch (Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Ben Miller (only when he's not trying to be funny), and Kate Williams immediately spring to mind)

It doesn't have to be either/or though. There should be room for all of them to have shows and educate us.

True, I'm just sore because when I first saw the trailer I was thinking "this sounds dead interesting", but then "presented by Coxy knobhead" (possibly not their exact words... ;) )

Oh, there was a lady who was on the news the other day talking about the recent DART launch (where they're playing snooker with asteroids) - and I have to say that she could talk to me about space for hours and I'd learn so much, she was fantastic - enthusiastic, bubbly, and bloody fascinating!

I look for two things: firstly, that the traffic lights have changed to red; secondly (and more importantly), that the approaching traffic is slowing down sufficiently to convince me that they have noticed the lights, they are going to stop and not run me over.

I often stare out drivers who creep forward at red lights. The world would be a far better place with fewer cars on the road, especially those driven by prick-drivers. Living overlooking a major crossroad, I see first hand the outcome of poor driver behaviours.

I don't use mine every day, but there are days when I do more than one wash, and it probably gets used 5-8 times a week
