Official website says announcement later this week on the 'Change'.
Social media posters think this means route alterations. Anyone know anything for certain on this announcement?

No. Could we just do pointless speculation instead?
I think ... that the route will turn back sooner and go round Holyrood Park; and the final mile will be run up the Royal Mile from the Palace, finishing on the Castle esplanade.

Pointless speculation is always fun...
In order to outdo Stirling, they'll go for a four-lap route that includes multiple underpasses.

I'm always up for a bit of pointless speculation on topics about which I know absolutely nothing......
Perhaps the Great Run people are taking it over (I have no idea whether or not that is a realistic suggestion or even if it is already part of their portfolio but might as well make a guess.)

The date will move to clash with the London Marathon, and Nicola Sturgeon will black up and pretend to be Mo Farah.

It'll be choreographed and everyone will be required to tap dance the final mile
