Change is coming to Edinburgh Marathon

Dvorak Sep 2017 11:25am, 29 Sep 2017 14,315 posts	0 Dvorak I can't help wondering if a 9% descent with two 90 degree bends, 600m into a marathon is that sound an idea. I must admit I was a bit surprised to find that the drop from the High St to the galleries is over 30m and then about 65m down to the Forth. Obviously Edinburgh goes up and down a bit, but I'd not considered just how much before.

And it goes round the castle. From the new start at Potterow to a Holyrood Park finish: 468m climb, 517m descent. fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1784467
