Lasya was asleep on the bed all day and night yesterday, while I was feeling poorly. As if she new I needed to largely be left alone. Then she cuddled up on the bed when I went to bed. I was cold so she made the perfect little hot water bottle, bless her!

Boys have discovered that they can jump on mum's kitchen side so expect we will be trying this out at home now

After 10 days away, Prim jumped up on the counter when I got the food out yesterday. I looked at her and she jumped back down. I see how itโs been with our neighbour in our absence. They miss him already. Although they like the opportunity for duplicate and extra meals when weโre back

G F Watts painted this, and dedicated to "all those who love the beautiful & mourn over the senseless & cruel destruction of bird life and beauty". I suspect he had a cat. I have a cat, whom I love, but who does things I do not love.

Lol, Peregrinator.
I hate birds. But I still feel guilty when the cats take them because cats are not native here. I think I feel more guilty because I don't actually care about the birds for their own sake and think I should.

Watts was protesting against the fashion (1899) of putting bird's wings etc. on women's hats and dresses - a cause that lead to the Society for the Protection of Birds, in turn (or tern) the RSPB. I feel guilty about feeding the birds, that then become cat fodder. There is a dopey young blackbird in the garden whose days are numbered ....

I stopped feeding the birds when I got Lasya. In stead I grow the native hedge out, which has resulted in a massive increase in song birds.
Lasya is only interested in catching voles, mice and shrews though. Birds are ok to threaten, but too much like hard work to catch. The chickens on the other hand: they helped themselves to most of the Robin fledgings from the nest near the coop
