Caspar brought in a live fledgling sparrow this morning - then one of the others caught another one, so I have two fledgling sparrows in a shoe box and am just hoping they survive. I think all I can do with them is put them back outside in a hedge and hope they're either independent enough to fend for themselves, or that their parents are near enough to find them.

The Pin Lady
Pepper is in my bad books. She brought in a mouse at 1:30am, let it go in the hall and then buggered off outside again. I couldn't find the b****y thing but I could find a humane mousetrap which I baited with nutella and left at the point where I last saw the mouse. At 2:38am I heard it go off so went back downstairs and relocated said mouse back outside.
All nutella gone - I hope the mouse doesn't develop too much of a taste for it and decide to move in!

The mouse did better than the poor bird I found at our patio doors this morning. Gino had been out during the night, first time ever he’s done that.
