Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

When I've paid for cat care in my home while I'm away, the company usually promises to spend up to 45 minutes per visit for £11, so that the cat has some human attention (if it wants it!).

Your neighbours sound as though they're making a very generous offer and it's something which is valuable to you if it means you can stick to your usual routine (if I understand correctly). They're looking at making, say, at least 5 or 6 visits each week. In your place I think I would offer something like £20 each week for their time - not as much as a formal cat sitter but something to compensate them for their time.

I'd missed the news re your mum - so sorry to hear that.

I used to pay a professional £5 for one visit a day, feeding, checking water and litter and spend 15 minutes fussing her.
Then I paid my friend's teenage daughter £3. I am in a very rural location where rates are generally lower than average.

Gorgeous picture fraggle and so pleased he’s a lap cat. Mind you, be careful what you wish for as ours shout at us until we sit down as they love a lap!

CK2 - Tilly seems like that. I suspect she wants to sleep on my bed at night but trying to keep that a cat free zone!

We had to stop our cats sleeping with us overnight as one insists on dive bombing us from the chest of drawers until she gets attention!
