Hi all,

Thought it might be fun to hear from some others getting ready to run Cambridge. Or even those who’ve run it before/ know the race chiming in :-)

I’m currently lying in bed with sore post long run legs and dreaming of a second coffee magically arriving in my hand. Despite the Monday morning lethargy, I’ve had a great training cycle so far and excited to see where I land on the day.

Questions: is the headphone rule enforced (a friend running doesn’t want to go buy bone conducting headphones if one headphone will be ignored?).

How chaotic is the bag drop in the morning?

Any route tips or tricks are super welcome!

Looks like a good few Fetchies doing it Chris. Best of luck. Pretty flat presumably round that part of the world. Are you looking for sub 1:30? Good target! :-) G

A sub 1.30 would be the dream :-) and yes, the flat course was a big appeal. Fingers crossed!

I'm doing my first Cambridge half this year. Currently battling an achilles niggle but would be targetting 1:30 if fit.

It is a flat/PB type of course I'm told.

Oooh, fingers crossed for your Achilles being on its best behaviour.

Will you go out with the pacers? I’m unsure - last sub 1.30 attempt (different race), I did that, but they went a little too hard for me, and I slowed in last 6 km.

The current route isn’t quite fen-flat, there’s a gentle drag up from about mile 7 and one very short up at about 9 miles - the profile is here

Won’t be there this year, decided I’d rather spend the day on an LDWA stomp this year instead - but there’s usually a decent Fetch contingent around.

Enjoy :) luck
