Not sure if this will work but yes loads of videos from the Cruising the cut guy. The early ones are informative but not really calming (in my opinion)

I find informative things more soothing than gentle music sometimes, guess it depends on the mood - more taking my mind off the thing that's pre-occupying me?

We had a fad for walking the local canal network(s) two years ago and found the Cruising guy really interesting. I’ve fished on and off since I was at junior school and am familiar with rivers but was much less so with canals. Canals because they don’t really flow and the boats move slowly seem to be calm environments

The British Pathé archives include much material from Reuter's too. The range is huge, in terms of subject and date - but I selected this short film entitled, 'Bread Sculptor' from 1957. You may care to mute the jolly martial music!

From 1948, a film about a woman looking after twin lighthouses in Lancashire. B & W, of course! The commentary - RP - and martial music may not grate as much as the 'housewife' reference...but the film is entirely 'of its time'.

Just as an aside, my son is involved in that marble machine project (page 1).

LindsD that's really cool. It looks painstaking work, mind you. What does your son do as part of it?

I'm planning to catch up on the videos, it's progressed a lot since I last saw it.
