I was once presented with a utopian vision of how the staff would be considered the most important thing in the IT department but it soon became clear that the budget for doing that had been used up by the day of the presentation. But I was very, very enthusiastic about the notion.

Remember when we said "People are our most important asset"? Well we were wrong. Our auditors tell us it is actually office chairs.

Dear Colleague,
A polite notice.
Please be advised that smoking outside the Building Manager's office (as per below picture) is not permitted, this is a fire exit and should always remain clear.
There are signs informing people that smoking is prohibited in this area however there are several staff members who congregate outside the building manager's office smoking, particularly when it’s raining.
If you do wish to smoke, please ensure you use the areas where ash trays are provided.
