No it is a fancy name for a tap that costs £3,000 and breaks all the time

We gave up on them. Now have proper water boilers.

I’ve seen adverts for those boiling water taps for your kitchen and wondered if there was a safety feature to stop someone sticking their hands under it thinking it’s an ordinary tap.

[You need to place your thumb on the sensor at the front before the button on the top will dispense hot water. Despite a huge laminated card with photographic instructions showing how to work it, most of our visitors seem incapable of getting hot water from it at all!]

Although they cost a lot, they are probably worth it as the HR team take ages to make tea even with an instant hot water tap. They would be even worse if they had the chance to fill the kettle to the brim and then stand around while it boils.

Don't they crust up in hard water areas? I can get my dailiy calcium allowance from half a glass of water round here, so I'm loathe to invest

Our office boiling tap can't keep up with demand, so enviably you get lukewarm tea.

NDWD - I normally reckon that keeping HR in the kitchen chatting to each other for as long as possible increases the overall productivity of the company
