We gave up on FUG’s. We now have FPIG’s to drive Process Improvements. Allegedly.

Dear Parents and Carers,
Many students and parents have commented on their disappointment that, at times, toilets are closed for maintenance and repair. This is frustrating for our students and costly and time consuming for the school. It is almost exclusively caused, regrettably, by the actions of a very small minority of students who engage in petty vandalism.
In order to protect the integrity of the toilets so that all students can have access to facilities that are essential to maintain dignity and comfort, we are trialling the implementation of access controls in place on all our toilets. Please note that toilets are not being locked down and no child will be prevented from accessing toilets if the need should arise. We are focussed on implementing a system that will allow us to hold the small minority to account. This will come into operation from Monday 18 November.
Any student who has a specific medical condition will be able to gain access to any toilet on site as they will be issued with their own personal access card. With this in mind, we are taking this opportunity to ensure that our records are up to date. If your child currently has a medical condition requiring access to the toilet at any time then can you please notify us at the following email address pastoral@school and provide a copy of appropriate medical evidence to support this. We should be grateful if this could be done by Friday 15 November to allow time for personal access cards to be created.
The new system has been explained in detail to your child but if you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s tutor in the first instance.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Hall
Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral)

he missed a trick: he could have added 'hygiene' to 'facilities that are essential to maintain dignity and comfort'.
On the other hand, the 'in place' on the following line is out of place.
And how glad I am to live in the 21st century where a school can congratulate itself on not denying a child access to a toilet. We could go to the toilet in the 1950s, but no one realised what an achievement it was necessitating self-congratulation.

I wonder how long it is before someone starts analysing length of toilet stops? Or those who regularly go as a pair?
