Surely every finish is 100% ditance away from the start isn't it?

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Found this under Kara Goucher USA record in GNR -

"^ Under IAAF rules the Great North Run is not eligible for record times, being more than 21m downhill from start to finish."

Some start an finish same place but lots of races are point to point like GNR but they could loop about so, as the crow flies, the start an finish are quite close. Otherwise you may get a net +++ wind to zoom you along :) GNR I'm no sure how far the start is from finish

Luckily we'll just be crossing back over to North Shields - couldn't bear hanging round then trying to get home with wee man so staying the night!

LOL at Pesto - I'd claim it too if that pregnant! Was too scared to do it a 6 months last year so deferred - most expensive race I've ever done that way :-o
