So who's moving over to September and who has other plans?
I hope to do it in September (Fingers crossed.)

I wouldnโt make any plans. Well, donโt make any non-cancellable reservations anyway.

Will aim for the new date in September. Gutted about the hotel, the White Hart because I can't get my money back on it as it was a discounted rate, so I will probably go for the two nights anyway unless hotels are shut down as I hate to waste it. I can check the course out for September.

Parkrun on the Saturday morning and a mini Fetch meet up is on offer for anyone that comes to Boston that weekend.

Not unexpected news but still disappointed. Think I will defer to next year as got other races paid for around that time
Feel sorry for the organisers having to make these decisions

I emailed them to withdraw on saturday, before the official announcement - had plans to do ultras in the autumn ( though who knows if things will be back to normal by then ! )

I think all sports, amateur or professional should defer exactly 1 year. Incl Olympics, Euros etc. Unfinished leagues to pick up and complete.
2020 is likely a write off, even if things do miraculously improve enough to run events say Sept, Oct it will be chaos.
Far rather have the 2020 I planned (and entered) in 2021, sure most pro athletes would rather have this sort of clear plan.

I just messaged the White Hart where I had booked 2 nights B&B for the Marathon. Even though I had prepaid with Booking.com at the cheapest no cancellation rate they have kindly moved me to the new weekend in September at no extra cost.
So at least one positive to look forward to. I guess other hotels might be happy to rebook and get customers back through the doors as soon as possible when this is all over.

I'm hoping to be busy elsewhere for the September date, so I've gone for the deferral to next year. At this rate, I'll have been training for 15 months for my first ever marathon...

I was going to run in September but decided to defer as I don't want to train through this current sorry state we're in.
Stay safe everyone.
