englandathletics.org It's a bit of a stretch to see road running as part of this plan but it does seem to be heading in that direction. I wouldn't advise anyone to make any firm plans based on it though! I have just entered a half marathon for late Oct myself, but it's just intended as a a fun run/day out and I won't allow myself to get too invested in it for a while yet |

I deferred as the new date clashed with the Copenhagen Half, which is now cancelled...

Ah, finally found the thread! All very confusing but I deferred from 2020 original date to 2021 just before covid came into full effect because of injury. Then last week someone at work entered for September, so I've also entered! With a bit of luck, I might be doing Boston twice in about 7 months! Training been going well, had started with the aim of MK marathon going ahead, but that went by way of covid, so it's a straight swap over. Hope everyone is doing well... |

I see they've put a call out for more marshals today so it looks like it's still on. @FF - a mini fetchpoint together somewhere? |

Minardi, it will have to be nearer the beginning because I shall need lunch before work. Frieston Road area?

Well I've carried on training on the basis it might go ahead and if it doesn't I will run a marathon from my house to Sheffield which is about 26 miles instead. I can't keep training for marathons and not doing them. Also I have my hotel booked and am guessing it will be open anyway even if the marathon is cancelled, so I will still have a weekend in Boston which is where I was born 50 years ago. Am looking forward to it and would be delighted if it went ahead, I have missed racing tomorrow.

Also did anyone else see Mo Farah on the One Show last night? I might have imagined this or read too much into it, but I am sure he said he was starting his marathon training on Monday, by which I assume he means London Marathon? Perhaps he has insider information that it might be going ahead?

I would assume he means for next spring if he's starting now

I'm no expert on how elite runners train for marathons but I imagine they must have a 12 or a 14 week plan like everybody else?

I've just been reading some comments on FB and apparently the organisers are going ahead if Hamburg goes ahead. Not sure how they work that one out. But some regular water station volunteers (parkrunners) are not volunteering this year and the list of marshals needed does seem rather long.
