A good cause. Safe travels and running to you, Steady. I don't know Mr. Fetch's policy on posting links to charities, but you should post it if allowed.

Thanks Frank, forecast dry for Saturday but been very wet so could be a tad heavy going underfoot but there's cake every 5 miles ![]() |

Six weeks remaining, how do you feel about your training? Are you incorporating some speed/track workouts? Tempos? Boston-specific hill training? Forest, how was Belvoir?

Belvoir was great thank you, tough underfoot but I controlled the pace well, pretty equal 1st / 2nd halves and finished in around 3:56, felt great, fuelling went well and couldn't ask for more. No specific training but I do mix it up depending on how I feel, say run hills harder on a club run or throw in some mile reps at tempo when I feel strong. Never trained on track and would much rather run to how I feel on a specific day. Enjoyment for me is #1 even if more structure would get me better results. |

Sounds good, forest. Finally a break in the weather. For the first time in more than a month, we had a high temperature for the day that was above 0 C. Still snow and ice everywhere, but the road surfaces are better. Got a nice 21 mile progressive run done on Sunday.

Hi Frank, I thought I'll try and dip into your knowledge about the race again. Now that wave assignments are out I was wondering if you know what the pace at the end of the first wave is going to be like? Due to a number of factors (a few niggles over the winter, not training for a fast marathon time, London Marathon 5 days later) I'll be planning to run more towards the 3:25ish pace instead of the sub 3h that I ran for my qualifier so I'm thinking about moving back a wave so I don't have to run on my own for most of the time. Also do you know of any good places to meet up for a drink after the race other than the official finisher's party at Fenway? |
