Wee Dan Brown runs into town with a pile of paperbacks in his nightgown
Crying at the windows marching up the road with his bloody awful book the DaVinci Sodding Code
Now piss off Dan.

A book of Lunar geography? A Piers Morgan biography? Selections from the Book of Kells? A cookery book that almost smells? The latest from J K Rowling? The Secrets of Great Ten-Pin Bowling? A book of photos? A book of dreams? A fishy book all filled with breams? Whatever it is don't let us down for Christ's sake, no ****ing Dan Brown!

Famous writers yet to feature: Katie Price, or that Archer creature Alan Titchmarsh, or Naomi Campbell All of these need no preamble They've written books (or had them published) The reviews weren't good Some were rublished So save us from celebrity tomes How about some Sherlock Holmes?

If I may interrupt, I have tonight started The Trouble With Goats And Sheep by Joanna Cannon, a book I very much want to like.
I'm thirty pages in and, although there is much to like so far, I've already come across three things I would query.
1. There is s map of the street where the story is set and it is a cul-de-sac, however, the street is called The Avenue. In my mind an avenue can't be a dead-end.
2. A character is reported to be stacking shelves in the Co-op on a Sunday morning. Supermarkets weren't open on a Sunday in 1976.
3. Similarly, Jimmy Young is on radio 2 on a Sunday lunchtime. I don't recall him ever being on on a Sunday.
Maybe I'm being too picky?

1. The Avenue was a long, broad line of trees of great vintage. then the council came along and closed off the road, building a giant quarry. Naturally, the Avenue was closed off, though kept its name.
2. Due to food shortages and panic buying caused by the great heatwave of 1976, the Co-op shelf stackers have been asked to come in on Sunday.
3. Terry Wogan has come down with flu and Radio 2 bosses have asked Jimmy Young to stand in.
