[At least I think it's Marmite. It's on all the books he's ever sent me]

Started 1000 ships yesterday, think I'm going to like it.
Didn't get on very well with the Dallergut Dream Department Store. It was OK at the start as it's easy to read and it's an intriguing idea. However the dialogue is bad and it just became a series of stories that didn't gel together. There was something off about it, maybe it just didn't translate from Korean into English very well. Feel bad as a friend recommended it so I don't know what to say when I give it back!

Just say it's not your cup of tea, Nemo. Picked up 1,000 ships (you didn't know I went in for weight-lifting, did you?) from the library and started reading it this morning, having finished "The Idiot".

I’m not loving 10,000 Ships in Blackburn Lancashire. Not hating it, but not really seeing what it’s for either.

Ah, you might have the wrong book. It's supposed to be A Thousand Chimps, by Natalie Haynes-Manual which is a fictionalised retelling of Jane Goodall's memoirs from the point of view of every chimpanzee she studied.

I've got a thousand chips, the epic telling of a man's quest to consume the world's largest potato. So far I've got to the part where he's converting a hot tub into a deep fat fryer.
