Checking the Dickens on my bookshelf - most of it was my mother's, rather than mine, originally - realised I have never read Bleak House, so will start on that next.
But a bit intrigued by the comments on Mr. Penumbra.
NO, I have not (yet) dreamt of Book Group.

That was the 'This library recommends' selection in Epsom library the other week - i.e. they had a big display of Penumbras. I glanced at it, flipped through it, didn't fancy it and put it back.

taken delivery of The Friends Of Eddie Coyle - *very* keen to launch into it, but *can't* start yet another book (embarrassed_smiley) so will have concerted push to finish Thomas Penman, which won't be too much of a chore as I find I am liking it more and more as I go along...

I didn't know it was a novel, I thought it was an opera.

It's a novel in poem form as I recall, so that would sort of lend itself to being sung I suppose
