Got the map out and found Lurkenhope Village. There is actually a hill called Black Hill, but it's more to the north-east.

Finished The Freeze-Frame Revolution last night, really enjoyed it. It's a quick read with a great story and interesting ideas. If you like hard sci-fi I'd recommend it :-)

Started OTBH on my commute this morning.
