Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Cancer Ward didnae go down well.

Nod was science fiction (kinda). Nobody liked it but since it was short pretty much everyone read it.

Wasn't Nod about a worldwide pandemic that brought life as we know it to a standstill? How far-fetched.

It was probably just Canada to be fair. I think I was still in my ‘Great Canadian Novel’ phase.

Focus Baz we know you can
Put down a great time
So give us your plan

Be good for our age
For now is the time
Our brains to engage

We’ll try and not give up
Even if first time
We want to throw up

I can see the home strait
So - one last time
Share you’re choice and make it great

I don’t think that’s an established rhyme pattern but I’m calling it “ode to a great marathon time at the umpteenth attempt”

My library didn't have AST by the time I got there so I may give it a miss and go straight to next month's choice.

I liked bits of Nod and The Cancer Ward even if they weren't easy reads. I'm glad they were chosen :-)
