He's running with Kim on this leg so he'll be getting the best advice :). He's missed Haycock and is off towards Pillar now.

Yep, straight from Steeple towards Pillar. Which gives him 17 mins Scoat -> Pillar to be back on his schedule, but then he'll need to find another ~5 mins somewhere to get ahead of Kim's time.

I don't know what it's like in Lakeland, but it's hot here already
Hot. I did OCT and it seems the DNF rate was high. I drank several litres of water and could probably be easily have had more (and only peed once.)

He looks to be neck and neck with Kim going on the tracker. Approx 5 mins up at Base Brown. Started to pick up time off Pillar.

Wow, that has been a seriously impressive recovery over the latter stages. Nearly 22 mins off the record. At that pace over the latter stages he could possibly have added Haycock and still got home.

Wow. That was a fast-moving dot towards the end there.
As Simon said, shouldn't get be too hung up on the initial schedule.

From watching the tracker it looked like he upped the pace after Yewbarrow. The run down from Pillar looked quick.
