He did it before with caches. Obviously improved his method.

Found his quote :
"My approach, once again, will be ‘self-supported.’ I will resupply en route via eight stash boxes full of expedition food and spare clothes - I have cached these in advance at various locations. Overnight, I will wild camp for two nights (last time I wild camped for all 14), sleep in two bothies, and spend five nights in youth hostels or similar accommodation. I will always hike solo, relying on myself for navigation, pacing, water purification and everything else.”

To my untrained eye looking at the map Zinnis appears to be moving pretty consistently in comparison to JK. Can anyone confirm how he’s moving against his schedule?

From what I understand he's around 5 hours off his original schedule. And about 9 hours behind John but about 4 hours in front of Carol. So I'd say extrapolating he's on the cusp of a 6 day round.

Looking at the tracker (and I did wonder at the time) I think I might have seen him heading in the opposite direction over Souther Fell to the Blencathra race.

To my extremely untrained eye, whichever of the three he was, he looked to be moving very well.

I deviated slightly on my descent of Scales Fell to go over and shake his hand. He looked pretty confused by this. :-D

I’ve just seen a video of him on Twitter crossing paths with the race.

DZ now over 11 hours behind JK, but he had a break at Mosedale, whereas JK had a break at Dodd Wood which DZ shouldn't need, so may end up back about 9 hours after that all unwinds.

Looks like it could be quite close between him and Sabs for 2nd fastest time - I presume that's what he'll be aiming for now ?
