No, but it might be second fastest. Certainly the fastest ACW. Hard to say really, so few people have done it.

Astounding pace either way -

no wonder you're knackered, hope you've not overdone it

Yes NE it left me a tad broken too but also humbled and thoroughly schooled by someone with whom I can’t even use the age excuse. The tone was set right from the get go. Schedule said 100 mins to get to Grisedale Pike from the Moot Hall. When my fellow pacer and I stumbled over the top the clock said 82 mins (and that included two sit down stops to sort a shoe issue) our man had already disappeared into the cloud on the drop on the other side. Race/survival was fully engaged and most of the remaining 2 hours to Buttermere passed in an oxygen deprived, leg burning blur. It was enlivened a little by the young man in a D of E group who said “come on lad you can catch them" as I skittered off Whiteside. I wonder if he realised that said lad was old enough to be his Grandad! 🤣
When 9 hours later I clocked on again for a second shift I hoped that NE and others would have got him under control in the interim. No such luck. I got a second 3 hour kicking from Langstrath to Three Shires Stone. Going up Bowfell Rakes I was convinced I could no longer cut it, simply not fit enough any longer. But while it wasn’t my fastest climb up there the strava splits suggest it was no worse than par on a decent BG. However, it was like chasing a man on a motor bike equipped with a cast iron butcher’s bike complete with giant wicker basket.

Great account FF. We had a similar experience trying to stay in touch with him going up the corridor route to Lingmell Col, my legs were on fire. Myself and Bobs actually missed out the OAB to Scafell, but the rest didn't do us much good. The climb up to Allen Crags and Glaramara was at a fearsome pace, made worse by that horrendous descent through the bracken down to where you were at Langstrath Bridge.

Yesterday's final leg was a bit more manageable, but still done at a decent pace - and he had Carl Bell up front too. When it became apparent that sub 37 was on the cards it was proper running, Carl showing us race lines down Skiddaw that ordinarily I wouldn't be troubled by.

I am now seriously dehydrated and knackered, Bobs has a migraine. The man is beast, we have been humbled.

I lose track of who’s had a go at these records

John seems quite durable and I’d have thought he’d make a good go at the Wainwrights. His problem will be fitting in the recovery rides on his bike into the schedule

Good to see him set an ambitious ( but hopefully achievable ) time of 5d 7h 49m, would have been easy to set it a lot closer to Sabrina's time of 5d 23h 49m.

Going to be interesting to see how close he sticks to his schedule

I love the description of a Barklays finisher as "quite durable"
