and whilst I'm here - how easy is the BG line up Yawbarrow to find?

I guess it is easy with all the BGRers but if you're not doing a BGR there are loads better ascents, in my humble opinion.

the start is a bit indistinct, but is fairly clear overall. Jump the gate marked "private" Cut diagonally up to the left, and you should find a trod.
Follow the trod as it meanders next to the stream
Take a slight left on the trod as it flattens out to reach the summit

I'm sure there are Fenners, but it makes a sensible (and hard) up for an "easy" down loop if I want a solo excursion whilst camping with youngest

I probably should add that it's not the easiest down route!

I figured that would come down the way most walking routes go up -

Will you be in the vicinity next weekend RH? I only ask because I will be around and will possibly have time to kill. I was thinking of taking you on a little scramble up Halls Fell ridge.

RH, as you're a runner, why not 'jog' towards Overbeck Bridge and ascend via Bell Rib, it is awesome.
