I'd like to ask for some help/advice.
I was at Krav training today and twice during some of the more exerting drills, my instructor remarked that my lips were turning blue and advised me to slow down/catch my breath.
I'm not sure why this happens. Is this something that I should worry about or is it just something that happens to people sometimes?

How do you feel? More breathless than normal?
If it was me I would visit my GP to get it checked.

I don't usually feel bad, a bit breathless but that's more because it happens when doing quite hard exercise so I'm not sure if it's that or my chest!

Mr Logic
It's probably nothing but it could be cyanosis which is usually caused by low blood oxygen or poor circulation. I think it can be quite dangerous so I'd get it checked out.

Yes, speak to the docs, especially if you're also breathless at the time your lips are blue. It's probably a harmless phenomenon (lots of people get blue lips when they're cold or hungry) but occasionally it's a sign that your heart isn't quite coping with the exertion, and without knowing anything about the drills in question I'm guessing that you could reasonably expect to do them without putting your heart under strain.

MY SO used to use my blue lips as a sign that we'd been out fishing too long and it was time to go home and thaw out:) That was some years ago mind you.
